VSL Script Draft for New Offer (First Test Assignment)

Launching a new digital product and looking for a junior scriptwriter to help us draft a Video Sales Letter (VSL) script. The brief is for an initial test assignment—one script draft to evaluate fit and messaging style. If it goes well, there’s potential for more ongoing script work and sales copy projects.

Our product is in the online education space, targeting young professionals in Europe who are looking to upskill. We want a script that’s direct, clear, and conversion-focused. The main goal: turn cold traffic into leads with a compelling, benefit-driven message. You’ll be working from a rough outline and a few notes on our audience’s pain points.

What we need:

• Draft a VSL script of 500–700 words (about 3–4 minutes spoken)
• Follow our outline, but bring your own flair for hooks and call-to-action
• Incorporate objection handling and a strong close
• Keep language simple, friendly, and easy to follow
• Focus on clarity, not hype—no need for ultra-aggressive sales tactics

Skills that help: some experience with VSLs, understanding of cold audience psychology, and a knack for breaking down offers in plain language. Familiarity with frameworks like PAS (Problem-Agitate-Solution) or AIDA is useful, but not required. If you’ve written sales emails, cold call scripts, or webinar intros before, that experience will translate well here.
