Performance Funnel Architect for Ongoing Optimisation (Mid-Level, Long-Term)

We're embarking on a multi-month project to rework our core funnel strategy and need a commercially-minded funnel specialist who can drive measurable improvements over time. Our aim is to increase conversion rates, improve LTV, and build a funnel architecture that supports sustainable growth—this isn't a one-off audit, but a hands-on, iterative partnership.
Context: We’re a digital-first business with a solid product-market fit, but our current funnel is underperforming at key stages. We've noticed drop-offs post-initial opt-in and inconsistent upsell take rates. Our offer structure could be sharper, and we suspect friction in the customer journey is impacting overall conversion. We want someone who understands the nuances of multi-step funnels, can map customer journeys, and is comfortable proposing and testing upsell/downsell flows.
What you’ll do:
- Audit our existing funnel, mapping every touchpoint and identifying bottlenecks in the customer journey.
- Develop a clear plan for restructuring the funnel—including sequence, offer positioning, and value ladders.
- Design and propose upsell/downsell flows that make commercial sense and are technically realistic for our stack.
- Collaborate with our in-house team to implement changes and track impact on key metrics (opt-in rates, AOV, conversion, LTV).
- Work iteratively: test new elements, review performance, and refine the funnel based on data (not just theory).
- Advise on copy and creative angles for each step, ensuring messaging matches the psychology of each funnel stage.
Our stack: We’re using a mainstream funnel builder (think ClickFunnels/Leadpages/Unbounce), with Zapier automations and email flows in Klaviyo. Familiarity with analytics tools (GA4, Hotjar or similar) is a plus, since we’ll want to measure each tweak’s impact.
Why now? We’re preparing to ramp up paid traffic and want to maximise ROI before scaling. Our previous funnel was built fast and ‘just enough’—now we need a more robust, conversion-focused architecture to support bigger growth goals. The project will span more than 3 months, with clear milestones and ongoing optimisation loops.
Ideal experience: You’ve worked on DTC or info-product funnels before (e-commerce, SaaS, coaching, etc.), know how to structure offers for both front-end and back-end monetisation, and can communicate your ideas clearly to both marketers and devs. Solid grasp of customer psychology, A/B testing, and iterative funnel improvement is essential. You’re comfortable with hands-on work and not just high-level strategy.
We’re looking for someone mid-level who’s hungry to prove themselves and can show real-world results from previous funnel projects—case studies or examples are a plus. Good communication and willingness to collaborate on Slack/Zoom will help. We value proactive updates and commercial thinking over buzzwords.
Deliverables: Initial funnel audit and recommendations, step-by-step restructuring plan, ongoing input on offer tweaks, and monthly performance reviews. If things go well, there’s potential for a longer-term retainer focused on continued optimisation and testing.
This is a remote, flexible role with a focus on outcomes. Budget covers the first phase (audit, plan, and first round of implementation); we’re open to renegotiating scope after initial results.
If you’re interested, please share relevant funnel projects or a short note on your approach to optimising multi-step journeys. Looking forward to finding someone who can make a tangible impact on our growth trajectory.
Let’s make this funnel work harder—quick turnaround on first audit appreciated. In short: we need a funnel that converts, scales, and makes commercial sense.
